我们提出了函数 J 作为描述宇宙中星系分布所形成的点模式的形态学描述子。该函数最近在空间统计学领域中被提出，基于最近邻分布和空隙概率函数。J 描述子可用于区分簇集（即相关）与“规则”（即反相关）点分布。我们概述了该方法的理论基础，针对 Matérn 聚类过程作为星系簇集的理想化模型进行测试，并将其应用于普鲁斯-皮斯测绘中的星系和宽松星系群。将其与来自混合暗物质模拟提取的 mock 数据样本进行比较显示，J 描述子可有益于约束（本案例中为拒绝）宇宙结构形成的可行模型。
