用于直接暗物质探测的μ子诱发中子测量系统

摘要

μ子诱发的中子是许多低计数率实验(即直接暗物质探测)中的主要本底成分。本文描述了一种用于在地下实验室(莫当地下实验室)测量该本底的中子探测器。该系统基于1立方米的掺钆闪烁体,并与EDELWEISS-II实验的μ子反符合探测器相连,用于符合μ子探测。该系统于2008年秋季安装,此后通过了一系列调试测试,证明了其完全功能性。数据采集持续进行,已实现约每天1个μ子诱发中子的计数率。
