On cyclically-interval edge colorings of trees
Abstract
For an undirected, simple, finite, connected graph , we denote by and the sets of its vertices and edges, respectively. A function is called a proper edge -coloring of a graph if adjacent edges are colored differently and each of colors is used. An arbitrary nonempty subset of consecutive integers is called an interval. If is a proper edge -coloring of a graph and , then denotes the set of colors of edges of which are incident with . A proper edge -coloring of a graph is called a cyclically-interval -coloring if for any at least one of the following two conditions holds: a) is an interval, b) is an interval. For any , let be the set of graphs for which there exists a cyclically-interval -coloring, and let For an arbitrary tree , it is proved that and all possible values of are found for which
