过去十年，我们在理解和计算预测铁电体和压电体性质方面取得了显著进展。相图、电机械和弹性性质，以及缺陷和表面的效应现已可以进行计算。最重要的是，已发展出新的技术，并对介质中极化概念有了新的理解。讨论了未来的前景。
