盖亚眼中的变宇宙

摘要
欧空局盖亚任务将为十亿个天体提供多历元数据库，包括变星、活动星系核和小行星等变源。我们强调了盖亚的一些特性，这些特性将有利于变源的研究，并通过两个例子说明在数据处理和天体表征准备工作中正在进行的工作。第一个例子涉及使用主成分分析技术分析盖亚的近同时多波段数据，第二个例子涉及将盖亚时间序列分类为变源类型。盖亚变源数据的地面处理结果将通过任务期间的欧空局中期和最终数据发布向科学界提供。
