摘要
西蒙斯天文台(SO)实验是位于智利阿塔卡马沙漠的宇宙微波背景(CMB)实验。SO的小孔径望远镜(SAT)由三台望远镜组成,旨在在大角尺度上进行精确的CMB偏振测量。每个SAT使用一个低温旋转半波片(HWP)作为偏振调制器,以减轻大气1/f噪声和其他系统误差。为了在观测波段实现高效的偏振调制,我们制造了一种由三块带有抗反射涂层的蓝宝石板组成的消色差半波片(AHWP)。该AHWP设计具有宽带调制效率和透射率。本文报告了用于SAT的AHWP的设计和初步表征。
