BoloCalc:用于西蒙斯天文台设计的灵敏度计算器

摘要

西蒙斯天文台(SO)是一项即将开展的实验,将在智利阿塔卡马沙漠研究宇宙微波背景(CMB)的温度和偏振涨落。SO 将部署一台大口径望远镜(LAT)和一组小口径望远镜(SATs),在六个频段进行观测,中心频率覆盖 27 至 270~GHz。SO 设计阶段的关键考量众多,包括每台望远镜的相机数量、焦平面放大率与像素密度、带内光功率与相机通量、探测器参数容差,以及扫描策略优化。为了以快速、有序且可追溯的方式指导 SO 设计,我们创建了一个基于 Python 的灵敏度计算器,具备若干前沿特性,包括探测器间光白噪声关联、对模拟与实测带通的处理,以及将底层参数不确定性传递为天空噪声性能的不确定性。我们讨论了灵敏度计算的数学原理、计算器的面向对象结构与关键特性、它如何指导 SO 的设计,以及它如何能促进更广泛的 CMB 领域(尤其是 CMB-S4)中的仪器设计。
