星际金属丰度对 Cepheid 周期-光度关系的影响

我们评估了星际铁含量对 Cepheid 周期-光度 (PL) 关系的影响，通过将 Freedman 等 (2001) PL 关系的 V 带残差与 [Fe/H] 关联，针对 68 颗银河系和麦哲伦云系的 Cepheid 星。这些铁丰度通过 FEROS 和 UVES 高分辨率高信噪比光谱测得。我们的数据表明，随着金属丰度的增加，星体会变暗，直至在约接近太阳金属丰度处达到平台或转折点。这一行为与 PL 关系独立于铁丰度以及 Cepheid 随着金属丰度增加而变亮（如 Kennicutt 等 1998, Sakai 等 2004）的观点均存在矛盾。
