星系团星系光度函数：M_1、M*与形态类型的关系

摘要
对36个阿贝星系团的光度函数进行了研究，使用Palomar 1.2米 Schmidt望远镜获取的摄影板。 brightest cluster member (BCM)的光度M_1与Schechter函数参数M*之间的关系进行了分析。发现M*与M_1之间存在正相关。然而，星系团在M_1-M*平面上根据其Rood & Sastry类别进行了分层，使得平均情况下，M_1变亮而M*变暗，从late到early Rood & Sastry类别以及Bautz & Morgan类别。此外，涉及10th brightest galaxy光度M_10的部分相关性分析显示，M_1与M*之间存在负的本征相关性。这些结果同化吞噬模型（cannibalism model）解释BCM形成一致，并为星系团形成与演化的理论提供了新的约束。
