Abell 496 星团中星系光度函数

摘要
我们从I波段的宽场图像中推导出Abell 496星系团的星系光度函数。单一的Schechter函数在17 <= I_{AB} <= 22 (-19.5 <= M_I <= -14.5) 星等区间能较好地模拟该光度函数，其指数在外围区域略显 steeper于内侧区域。此结果符合观察：外围区域的暗星系更丰富，而在密集的内侧区域，这些暗星系可能被较大星系吞噬，或因引力相互作用而被淡化甚至被破坏。
