摘要
我们描述了最近被意大利空间航天局选为首个小型科学任务的AGILE伽马射线天文卫星。该任务计划于2002年发射，将在GLAST之前提供30 MeV - 50 GeV能段的高能天文学独特工具。尽管重量和尺寸远小于EGRET，但AGILE的科学性能与之相当。
