利用 H.E.S.S 对双中子星并合 GW170817 的 TeV 伽马射线观测

摘要
我们利用 H.E.S.S. 成像大气切伦科夫望远镜搜寻双中子星并合事件 GW170817 的高能伽马射线辐射。本文报告的观测在 GW170817 发生仅 5.3 小时后即开始。H.E.S.S. 的目标选择确定了极大概率发现该引力波事件对应体的区域。这些区域中的第一个包含了对应体 SSS17a,该对应体在我们的观测数小时后才在光学波段被识别。因此,我们可以展示由地基指向式仪器获取的该天体的首批数据。随后使用 H.E.S.S. 望远镜开展的监测活动持续了数天,覆盖了从 0.22 天到 5.2 天的时间尺度以及 到 的能段。未发现显著的伽马射线辐射。推导出的甚高能伽马射线流量上限,首次对已确认双中子星系统并合后的非热高能辐射给出了约束。
