M5 星际球状星系核心的星系人口与变星

摘要
我们基于利用哈勃空间望远镜行星相机获取的 12 小时图像序列，发现了 M5 星际球状星系核心中的一颗变蓝冲击星。此外，我们介绍了在该星系核心发现的 28 颗 previously unknown 或研究不充分的大振幅变星（除一颗外均为 RR Lyrae 类型）。(V, U-I) 色-明度图显示在星系中心 2 个核心半径内有 24 颗蓝冲击星。蓝冲击星人口显著更集中地位于核心中心，而水平分支和红巨星则不然。
