ESA 的 Gaia 任务将为标准烛光领域带来新纪元。该领域的进展将得益于前所未有的天体测量精度、全天空覆盖以及光度、分光光度和光谱测量的结合。该任务的核心成果是由 Gaia 数据分析与处理联盟 (DPAC) 生成的 Gaia 星表,其中将包含变源分类以及特定变星类型恒星的特有属性。我们综述了针对造父变星、RR Lyrae 变星、长周期变星和食双星将产生的成果。
