摘要
自然界中的地震发生被认为是由相关的弹性应力所致，导致其在空间和时间上产生聚类。我们表明，加利福尼亚州大地震的发生与中小地震波动相对于长期平均值受到抑制的时间间隔相关。我们估计这种巧合由随机聚类造成的概率小于1%。
