我们通过探测光束骤然熄灭后立即发出的闪光，测量了高度饱和原子介质对光的共振前向散射。实验在稀薄区进行，其中现象可用独立散射近似很好地描述。将我们的测量结果与基于 Maxwell-Bloch 方程的模型比较，我们的实验结果与仅来自弹性分量的贡献一致，而相干透射功率的衰减则与弹性和非弹性散射相关。在大饱和区及原子共振附近，我们推导出一个将弹性散射功率与前向散射功率联系起来的渐近表达式。
