搜寻衰变{\mu} -> eee的实验研究计划书

摘要

我们提出一项实验(Mu3e),以搜寻违反轻子味守恒的衰变mu+ -> e+e-e+。我们的目标是达到每10^16次mu衰变中探测到一次事件的终极灵敏度,这比以往的搜寻提高了四个数量级。这一灵敏度得以实现,得益于利用现代硅像素探测器提供的高空间分辨率,以及由闪烁光纤和闪烁体瓦片组成的描迹仪在高粒子速率下提供的精确时间信息。
