量化机器学习的碳排放

摘要
从环境角度看，训练神经网络有几个关键方面对其排放的碳量有重大影响。这些因素包括：用于训练的服务器所在位置及其所使用的电网、训练过程的时长，甚至训练所采用的硬件品牌与型号。为估算这些排放，我们提出了机器学习排放计算器，这是我们社区用于更好理解训练 ML 模型环境影响的一个工具。我们随该工具附上了对上述因素的说明，以及个体从业者和组织可采取以减轻其碳排放的具体行动。
