本工作的目标是对 M31 中的食双星进行测光研究。我们应用一种改进的盒式拟合算法来搜索食双星候选体并确定其周期。我们利用傅里叶分解法将这些候选体分类为分离型、半分离型和接触型系统。我们将分离型候选体的位置与 Local Group Survey (Massey et al. 2006) 的测光数据进行交叉匹配，并筛选出 13 个 V 波段亮于 20.5 等的候选体。这些分离型候选体的相对物理参数进一步通过 Devor (2005) 开发的分离食双星光变曲线拟合器（DEBiL）进行表征。我们将对分离食双星进行光谱后续观测，并测定到 M31 的距离。
