POLARBEAR 对宇宙双折射与原初磁场的约束

摘要

我们利用 POLARization of the Background Radiation (POLARBEAR) 实验在首次观测季中进行的宇宙微波背景测量中的偶宇称 EE 模与奇宇称 BB 模偏振的四点关联,约束各向异性宇宙双折射。我们发现,任何破坏宇称的过程产生的各向异性宇宙双折射信号均与零一致。各向异性宇宙双折射引起的法拉第旋转可与原初磁场(若存在)产生的等效量进行比较。POLARBEAR 的未探测结果转化为在包含系统不确定性的情况下等效原初磁场振幅的 95% 置信水平(C.L.)上限 93 纳高斯(nG)。这一对法拉第旋转的四点关联约束比由 Planck 2015 年测量的 BB 模两点关联对法拉第旋转贡献约束推断出的 1380 nG 上限紧约 15 倍。由原初磁场引发的度规扰动也会对 BB 模功率谱有贡献。利用 POLARBEAR 对 BB 模功率谱(两点关联)的测量,我们在场振幅平坦先验假设下设置原初磁场的 95% C.L. 上限 3.9 nG。该极限与 Planck 2015 年结合温度与偏振的两点关联分析所得结果相当。我们进行了一系列系统误差测试,未发现污染证据。本工作标志着首次在地面亚度尺度上对各向异性宇宙双折射或原初磁场进行约束。
