摘要
自驱动实验室(self-driving labs, SDLs)将全自动化实验与决定下一组实验的人工智能(AI)相结合。在其终极形态下,SDLs可引领科学研究的新范式,即世界由机器探测、解读并解释以造福人类。尽管化学与材料科学领域已有可运行的SDLs,我们认为合成生物学提供了独特机遇,因为基因组可作为影响极其广泛生物细胞行为的单一靶点。然而,仅当致力于解决困难且具有赋能性的生物学问题时,创建生物SDLs所需的投资水平才具合理性。本文中,我们探讨创建合成生物学SDLs的挑战与机遇。
