On (shape-)Wilf-equivalence for words

Combinatorics 2018-06-18 v2

Abstract

Stankova and West showed that for any non-negative integer ss and any permutation γ\gamma of {4,5,,s+3}\{4,5,\dots,s+3\} there are as many permutations that avoid 231γ231\gamma as there are that avoid 312γ312\gamma. We extend this result to the setting of words.
