HAWC观测到银河中心超PeV能量射线源,超过100 TeV

我们报告了使用High-Altitude Water Cherenkov(HAWC)探测器收集的七年数据,对银河中心区域观测到的超高能(UHE)伽马射线。HAWC数据最佳描述为一个类点源(HAWC J1746-2856),其谱线为幂律谱(dN/dE=ϕ(E/26TeV)γ\mathrm{d}N/\mathrm{d}E=\phi(E/26 \,\text{TeV})^{\gamma}),其中γ=2.88±0.15stat0.1sys\gamma=-2.88 \pm 0.15_{\text{stat}} - 0.1_{\text{sys}}ϕ=1.5×1015\phi=1.5 \times 10^{-15} (TeV cm2^{2}s)1^{-1}±0.3stat0.13sys+0.08sys\pm\, 0.3_{\text{stat}}\,^{+0.08_{\text{sys}}}_{-0.13_{\text{sys}}},谱线范围从6到114 TeV。我们在HAWC数据中未发现显著的谱线截止,直至100100 TeV。两种已知的类点伽马射线源与HAWC伽马射线超标同时位于空间上:Sgr A^{*}(HESS J1745-290)和弧形结构(HESS J1746-285)。我们从测量的HAWC J1746-2856总通量中减去已知点源的通量贡献,以排除其杂散 contamination,显示HAWC观测到的剩余信号仍显著(>>5σ\sigma),且谱线延伸至>100>100 TeV。我们的结果表明,这些检测到的UHE伽马射线可通过与密集环境气体发生原子核相互作用来解释银河中心处的质子PeV加速子。
