摘要
本文研究了一种利用人工神经网络（ANN）进行手写英文字符识别的方法。这项工作是在离线环境中针对非相关字符完成的，这些字符之间不存在任何线性关系。我们测试了特定被测字符是否属于某个簇。实现在 Matlab 环境中进行并成功测试。使用了五十二组英文字母来训练 ANN 并测试网络。算法使用 26 个大写字母和 26 个小写字母进行了测试。测试结果表明，所提出的基于 ANN 的算法显示出最高 85% 的识别率。
