基于 TRIUMF 高强度超冷中子源的中子电偶极矩实验

摘要

TRIUMF 超冷中子高级中子 (TUCAN) 联合实验小组正在开发一个高强度超冷中子 (UCN) 源,旨在搜索中子电偶极矩 (EDM),其灵敏度目标为 1027 ecm10^{-27}\ e{\rm cm}。本文报告了近期在超冷中子源 commissioning 以及中子 EDM 光谱仪开发方面的进展。最终配置下的加速器驱动的超热 UCN 源将使中子 EDM 实验的统计学获得两个数量级的提升。2024 年,联合实验小组实现了完整源系统的运行(除液氦氘冷中子 moderator 外),实现了首次的 UCNs 生产。同时也展示了 EDM 光谱仪的状态,重点强调了与场控、屏蔽和磁测量相关的 UCNs 处理组件和磁子系统。
