欧洲极大望远镜的多目标光谱学:EAGLE与EVE的科学协同

摘要

欧洲极大望远镜(E-ELT)仪器的EAGLE和EVE阶段A研究源于相关的顶层科学问题,但采用了不同(但互补)的方法来实现所需的观测。我们重新审视了在E-ELT上安装多目标光谱仪(MOS)的动机,并为一种多功能仪器提出了一套统一的要求。这样的MOS将利用EAGLE所设想的近红外优异空间分辨率,并结合EVE的光谱覆盖范围和大多路复用能力。我们简要讨论了能够在E-ELT的一个纳史密斯焦点上以单一仪器满足这些要求的顶层系统。
