使用 Faulkes 望远镜监测 LMXB

Faulkes 望远镜项目是 Las Cumbres Observatory Global Telescope Network (LCOGT) 的教育部门。目前拥有两台 2 米级自主望远镜，分别位于马奥's 哈纳卡尔 (FT North) 和澳大利亚西dingham (FT South)。计划未来扩大至六台 2 米级望远镜，配合 30-40 台较小(0.4-1 米)望远镜网络，实现对北半球和南半球 24 小时覆盖。我们正在使用 FT North 对 10 台低质量 X 射线二元星 (LMXB) 进行观测，研究 X 射线暂态在静默状态下的光学连续光谱行为。FT South 于 2006 年 9 月投入使用后，我们将监测范围扩展到包括 17 台南半球 LMXB。配合新仪器，我们还打算将监测范围扩展到红外波段和光谱测量。
