核物质中 $\omega$ 介子寿命的修正

摘要

利用波恩 ELSA 标记光子设施的 Crystal Barrel/TAPS 探测器,测量了 C、Ca、Nb 和 Pb 原子核上的 ω\omega 介子光生过程。将 ω\omega 介子截面对核质量数的依赖性与三种不同类型的模型进行了比较:Glauber 分析、Giessen 理论组的 BUU 分析以及 Valencia 理论组的计算。在所有三种情况下,对于平均 3-动量为 1.1 GeV/c 的情况,发现在正常核物质密度下,非弹性 ω\omega 宽度为 130150MeV/c2130-150 \rm{MeV/c^2}。在 ω\omega 介子的静止系中,该非弹性 ω\omega 宽度对应于 ω\omega 寿命缩短了约 30 倍。首次从实验中提取了动量依赖的 ω\omegaN 截面,其范围约为 70 mb。
