摘要
我们通过引入「意义自动机」的新概念来定义语义复杂度。我们测量了介词短语的语义复杂度、深度理解系统的语义复杂度，以及在线日历的自然语言接口的语义复杂度。我们论证了在构建自然语言处理系统之前测量其某些语义复杂度是可能的，并且表现出相对复杂行为的系统可以由语义简单的组件构建而成。
