长程距离下质子自旋结构的测量

摘要

测量质子和中子的自旋结构检验了我们对它们如何由夸克和胶子(核物质的基本组成单元)产生的理解。在长程距离下,强相互作用的耦合常数变得很大,需要非微扰方法来计算量子色动力学过程,例如格点规范理论或有效场论。本文报道了通过极化电子束散射极化质子得到的质子自旋结构测量。自旋相关截面在长程距离下测得,对应于低动量转移平方在 0.012 至 1.0 GeV2^2 之间的区域。该运动学范围对手征有效场论预言提供了独特的检验。我们的结果表明,对核子自旋的完整描述仍然难以实现,并呼吁进一步的理论工作,例如格点量子色动力学。最后,我们外推至光子点的数据与 Gerasimov-Drell-Hearn 求和规则一致,该量子场论的基本预言将质子的反常磁矩与其积分自旋相关截面联系起来。
