IceCube 中大气电子中微子通量的测量

我们报告了首次在约 80 GeV 至 6 TeV 能量范围内对大气电子中微子通量的测量,使用了 IceCube 低能扩展阵列 DeepCore 第一年运行期间记录的数据。文中展示了识别在 DeepCore 体积内相互作用的中微子以及排除源自探测器外部的缪子的技术。在 281 天的数据中观测到一个包含 1029 个事件的样本,其中估计有 496 ± 66(统计) ± 88(系统) 个级联事件,包括电子中微子事件和中性流事件。样本的其余部分包括由大气缪子和大气缪子中微子带电流相互作用引起的残余本底。大气电子中微子的通量与这一能量范围内的大气中微子模型一致。这构成了在针对 TeV 能量范围优化的大型体积中微子望远镜中首次观测到电子中微子和中性流相互作用。
