摘要
在新视野号(New Horizons)航天器飞掠期间由LORRI成像系统拍摄的接近图像已被用于确定冥王星和冥卫一的平均半径和形状。主要观测是使用三种独立方法得出的边缘位置。得到的冥王星和冥卫一的平均半径分别为1188.3 +/- 1.6 km和606.0 +/- 1.0 km(2-sigma)。相应的密度分别为1854 +/- 11 kg m-3和1701 +/- 33 kg m-3(2-sigma)。冥卫一半径值与先前基于地球的掩星估计一致。冥王星半径估计与新视野号上ALICE和精细太阳传感器(Fine Sun Sensor)仪器进行的太阳掩星测量一致。冥王星和冥卫一均未显示任何潮汐/旋转畸变的证据;扁率的上限分别<0.6%和<0.5%。
