我们展示了利用位于夏威夷的詹姆斯·克拉克·麦克斯韦望远镜(JCMT)上的亚毫米波通用用户辐射热计阵列 2(SCUBA-2)相机及其配套偏振计(POL-2)对蛇夫座-B(Oph-B)进行的尘埃发射偏振测量结果。该工作是由旨在理解磁场在邻近恒星形成分子云的恒星形成中所起作用而发起的星形成区磁场观测(BISTRO)巡天的一部分。我们首次展示了 Oph-B 中磁场的几何形态与强度。磁场几何形态在 0.2 pc 尺度上被追踪,并清晰探测到 Oph-B 的两个子团块。在子团块 Oph-B1 中,磁场图样明显无序。Oph-B2 中的磁场几何形态更为有序,倾向于沿团块主轴方向,平行于其所处的纤维状结构。在两个子团块中,偏振度朝致密核物质方向系统性降低。低密度物质中沿边缘的磁力线与近红外偏振观测所探测到的大尺度磁场平滑衔接。我们利用 Davis-Chandrasekhar-Fermi 分析估算出 Oph-B2 子团块中的磁场强度为 630410 G。基于该磁场强度,我们得到质量-磁通量比 = 1.61.1,表明 Oph-B2 团块略微处于磁超临界状态。
