翻译失踪？探讨拉丁语到奥地利语中语法性别的转变

摘要
从拉丁语到罗曼语语言的历时演变涉及语法性别系统从三元配置（阳性、阴性、中性）到大多数罗曼语中的二元配置（阳性、阴性）的重构。本文引入一种可解释的深度学习框架，分别在词汇和语境层面考察这一现象。首先，我们表明常规分词策略在这一低资源历史语境下鲁棒性不足，而我们提出的分词器在这些基线之上实现了更好的性能。在词汇层面，我们评估形态特征对性别预测的贡献。在语境层面，我们量化不同词性类别对语法性别预测的贡献。这些分析共同刻画了性别信息在词干及其句子语境之间的分布。我们将代码库、数据集和结果公开于\href{https://github.com/ahan-2000/Lost-in-Translation-}{https://github.com/ahan-2000/Lost-in-Translation-}。
