利用默奇森宽场阵列对南天系外行星低频射电辐射的限制

摘要
我们展示了利用默奇森宽场阵列(Murchison Widefield Array)对 17 个已知系外行星系统进行低频射电辐射巡天的结果。该样本包含 13 个此前未进行过射电观测的系统。我们在 154 MHz 频率下未检测到射电辐射,并给出了该辐射 3 sigma 上限,范围为 15.2-112.5 mJy。我们还搜索了圆偏振辐射,同样未检测到信号,获得的 3 sigma 上限范围为 3.4-49.9 mJy。这些结果与现有文献中最佳的低频射电限制相当;若假设辐射为 100% 圆偏振,则对应的光度限制介于 1.2 x 10^14 W 和 1.4 x 10^17 W 之间。这是利用 MWA 系统性搜索系外行星辐射的大型项目的首批结果。
