将费米伽马射线暴监测仪整合至第三行星际网络

摘要

我们正在将费米伽马射线暴监测仪(GBM)整合至伽马射线暴(GRB)探测器的行星际网络(IPN)中。加入GBM后,IPN将包含9个实验。这将1)协助费米团队理解并降低其系统定位误差,2)将GBM和大视场望远镜(LAT)的误差圆缩小1至4个数量级,3)促进将GRB源与地面及空间天文台在其他波段(从射电到甚高能伽马射线)发现的天体进行证认,4)降低将某些LAT高能光子探测与GBM暴发关联时的不确定性,以及5)促进对非电磁GRB对应体的搜寻,特别是中微子和引力辐射。我们给出了一些实例并论证了费米与IPN之间的协同作用。这是一项费米第2周期客座研究员项目。
