本文发展了一种方法，通过将古典希腊诗歌和古典拉丁诗歌的大样本映射到符号时间序列来分析其复杂性增加. 该映射旨在刻画韵律的规律性，即强弱音节在诗句中的模式. 采用信息论中的技术，具体为 Renyi 熵, 我们展示了希腊诗歌的韵律模式如何演化为更复杂的拉丁诗歌行为. 报告了一些有趣的结果.
