摘要
我们报道了利用洛斯阿拉莫斯中子科学中心的UCNτ装置对自由中子寿命的一项改进测量。在2017年和2018年的两次数据采集活动中,我们在UCNτ的磁引力陷阱中存储后,总计计数了约个存活的超冷中子(UCN)。我们通过三种盲法独立分析提取:将长存储时间和短存储时间运行配对以获得一组重复的测量值,以及对所有数据进行全局似然拟合,同时自洽地纳入衰变寿命。两种技术均取得一致结果,并得出~s。在此灵敏度下,中子寿命实验现在可直接探讨我们近期对中子衰变标准模型理解 refinement 的影响。
