摘要

国际轴子观测站 (IAXO) 是下一代轴子日镜,旨在实现对轴子 - 光子耦合灵敏度达到几 1012 GeV110^{-12} \text{ GeV}^{-1},即比目前最敏感的轴子日镜欧洲核子研究中心轴子太阳望远镜 (CAST) 实现的灵敏度高出 1-1.5 个数量级。提高 IAXO 灵敏度的关键因素包括增加磁场体积,以及广泛使用 X 射线聚焦光学器件和低背景探测器,这些创新已在 CAST 上成功测试。为解释白矮星冷却而提出的电子耦合轴子、遗留轴子以及各种更多通用的类轴子粒子 (ALPs) 连同其他在基本粒子物理低能前沿的新颖激发态,可为 IAXO 提供额外的物理动机。
