国际轴子观测站(IAXO)的物理潜力

摘要
我们综述了下一代太阳轴子搜寻实验——国际轴子观测站(IAXO)的物理潜力。IAXO具备发现轴子类粒子(ALPs)的灵敏度,其与光子的耦合可小至 GeV,或与电子的耦合10,有潜力在1 meV1 eV质量范围内找到QCD轴子,该轴子可解决强CP问题、解释宇宙的冷暗物质并导致若干恒星系统中观测到的反常冷却。同时,IAXO将具有足够灵敏度探测被援引解释以下现象的较低质量轴子:1) 宇宙对伽马射线反常“透明”的起源,2) 星系团观测到的软X射线超出,或 3) 某些暴胀模型。此外,我们综述了参数可由IAXO触及的弦理论轴子,并讨论其作为暗物质与暗辐射在宇宙学中的潜在作用以及与上述难题的联系。
