一颗白矮星能承载多少额外电荷?

摘要

一个物体能承载多少过剩电荷(“额外电荷”,surcharge)这一问题通常极难回答。本文表明,当该物体是一颗由质子和电子构成的“失败白矮星”(基态下的棕矮星)时,此问题易于回答:给定质子数,可以有多少个电子?令人惊讶的是,答案(形式为:最少 A\mathfrak{A} 个,最多 B\mathfrak{B} 个)与光速 cc 和普朗克量子 hh 无关,即便该星体由相对论量子力学稳定以抵抗坍缩时亦如此。
