红超巨星风中隐藏的双极性

对晚期 M 型恒星的许多观测显示其具有大尺度近球形的星周包层，然而行星状星云和超新星遗迹却常常是轴对称的。我们展示了围绕红超巨星 S Per 的脉泽的 VLBI 和 MERLIN 观测结果，这些结果显示了不同程度的轴对称性以及一个动力学上显著的磁场。在此处或大多数类似天体中，没有发现自转的证据。我们探讨了该磁场的可能起源。
