有充分证据表明（后）渐近巨星支（AGB）星以及超巨星的外包层中存在着强磁场。这些磁场的起源与作用仍不清楚。本文更新了 AGB、后 AGB 星周围磁场观测的现状，并描述了它们在这些演化阶段的可能作用。文中还重点介绍了在超巨星周围发现的磁排列尘埃。在我们探寻磁场起源的过程中，近期观测显示了可能的磁活动与自转的征兆，表明磁场可能内禀于 AGB 星。
