HerMES:250、350 和 500 微米处的 SPIRE 星系计数

在整个宇宙年龄中从星系探测到的总光中,远红外波长的发射占了很大一部分。Herschel 提供了在星系发射峰值波长处研究星系的机会。我们的目标是为星系种群演化模型提供基准,并测试现有的星系模型。借助 Herschel 多层河外巡天 HerMES,我们使用 Herschel 上的 SPIRE 仪器观测了多个不同面积和灵敏度的场。我们确定了低至约 20 mJy 的星系计数。我们通过直接计数星系得到的约束与 BLAST 起伏分析的估计一致,但更为精确。我们发现在 <100 mJy 处欧几里得归一化计数急剧上升。我们在接近红外河外背景峰值波长处直接分辨了其 15% 的来源。
