类星体中的Hβ轮廓：中间线区的证据

我们报告了对从斯隆数字巡天中选出的568个z < 0.8类星体样本中Hβ和Fe II发射线的系统研究。传统的宽Hβ发射线可以分解为两个分量——一个具有中等速度宽度，另一个具有非常宽的宽度。中等宽度分量的速度位移和等值宽度与Hβ的非常宽分量不相关，但其速度位移和宽度与Fe II相似。此外，非常宽分量的宽度大约是中等宽度分量的2.5倍。这些特征强烈表明存在一个中间线区，其运动学似乎由内流主导，位于宽线区的外部。
