电子与离子在 KATRIN 束线中的首次传输

摘要

卡尔斯鲁厄氚中微子(KATRIN)实验是一项大规模研究计划,旨在通过精确测量氚β衰变的端点能谱,以 0.2 eV(90% 置信水平)的灵敏度探测中微子绝对质量尺度。本工作记录了 KATRIN 的几个调试里程碑:实验束线的完整组装、来自三个源的电子成功传输通过束线到达主探测器,以及离子传输与保留的测试。在 2016 年秋季的首次发光调试活动中,在后壁上产生光电子,并由连接在后段的专用离子源产生离子;2017 年 7 月,将气态 Kr-83m 注入 KATRIN 源段,并在传输段部署了凝聚态 Kr-83m 源。本文中我们描述了装置的技术细节和每次测量的配置,并给出关于源与系统性能的初步结果。我们已成功实现来自全部四个源的传输,确立了系统稳定性,并表征了装置的许多方面。
