摘要
我们报告了卡尔斯鲁厄氚中微子(KATRIN)实验首次中微子质量测量的数据集、数据处理和详细分析技术,该实验通过分子氚的衰变运动学探测绝对中微子质量尺度。源是高度纯化的低温T气体。电子沿磁力线被引导至高分辨率积分谱仪进行能量分析。硅探测器计数高于谱仪能量阈值的电子,因此扫描阈值可精确测量高能谱尾。经过从分子末态分布到源中的非弹性散射再到电磁场的细微之处在内的详细理论研究、模拟和调试测量后,我们独立的盲分析使我们能够在90\%置信水平上设定中微子质量尺度的上限为1.1 eV。这一基于数周在降低源强度下运行且由统计不确定性主导的首个结果,比先前极限改善了近两倍。该结果为未来的KATRIN测量建立了分析框架,并为粒子理论和宇宙学提供了重要输入。
