Very Small Array初步结果. II. CMB观测

摘要

我们利用Very Small Array在34 GHz波段观测了宇宙微波背景温度涨落,覆盖八个场,遍及三个互离的天空区域。共成像了101平方度,对角尺为3.6-0.4度(相当于角 multipole l=150-900)。我们描述了场的选择及观测策略。 在全分辨率图像中(合成束径 FWHM ~ 17 arcmin),热噪声通常为45微开尔文,CMB信号通常为55微开尔文。各场噪声水平均与望远镜的热噪声预期水平良好一致,未发现任何残余系统特征。相同CMB特征在独立、重叠观测中均被检测到。通过独立的15 GHz调查检测到离散射流源,并通过在34 GHz波段的定点跟踪观测消除了其影响。我们估计由于未消除射流源引起的残余混淆噪声小于14 mJy/beam(在全分辨率图像中相当于15微开尔文),其与热噪声正交叠加会使噪声水平提高6%。我们估计diffuse Galactic emission对图像的rms贡献小于6微开尔文。我们还呈现了在最大化CMB特征信噪比并在重叠区域拼接的图像,其中一些单个CMB特征的信噪比超过8。
