DEAP-3600在SNOLAB使用氩进行暗物质搜索的首批结果

摘要

本文报告了使用DEAP-3600单相液态氩(LAr)探测器进行直接暗物质搜索的首批结果。该实验在加拿大萨德伯里的SNOLAB地下2公里处进行,利用大质量靶,将LAr靶容纳在一个容量为3600公斤的球形丙烯酸容器中。LAr由光电倍增管阵列观测,这些光电倍增管将记录由暗物质粒子散射引起的稀有核反冲信号产生的闪烁光。对在初始填充阶段使用近乎满装的探测器获取的4.44个活天(有效曝光量为9.87吨·天)数据进行的分析,展示了探测器性能以及氩中利用脉冲形状甄别实现的最佳电子反冲排除能力,在16至33 keVee_{ee}能量区间内的泄漏率<1.2×107<1.2\times 10^{-7}(90%置信水平)。未观测到候选信号事件,这给出了氩上WIMP-核子自旋无关截面的领先上限,对于100 GeV/c2^2的WIMP质量,该截面<1.2×1044<1.2\times 10^{-44} cm2^2(90%置信水平)。
