ANNIE 中基于 LAPPD 的中微子探测的首次光学信号

摘要

Accelerator Neutrino Neutron Interaction Experiment (ANNIE) 是一个物理实验和下一代基于光学的中微子探测技术试验平台。本文报告了在运行中的中微子束实验中,Fully 集成的 Large Area Picosecond Photodetector (LAPPD) 的首次演示。我们专注于 Packaged ANNIE LAPPD (PAL) 的设计、调试和成功部署,该模块具备防水、自触发功能,并集成了快速波形数字化和与 ANNIE 检测子系统同步的精确定时。我们识别出与多个检测子系统中观察到的带电中子相互作用相一致的 beam-correlated LAPPD 数据帧,确立了首次探测到中微子诱导的 Cherenkov 光信号。这些结果在包括长期稳定性、定时同步以及与常规 PMT 和 μ子探测器系统事件匹配等实际实验条件下,验证了 LAPPD 在系统层面的性能,标志着其在未来大型中微子和粒子探测器中的部署的关键步骤。
